what is best for a RTC?

hi there, i was wondering what was best in my tank for my new baby rtc, sand or Gravel? im not quite sure what would be best as this is the 1st time i have kept catfish so any ideas please as i am currently giving my tank a full refurbishment or is this a bad idea too im not sure what to do, my rtc is in a 90ltr atm so i would like to make my mind up asap so help please people

i would go with sand,I use sand for my RTC tank as well,i find it way better looking and also way easier to clean and it seems is better for any kind of catfish's as well.

i would go bare bottom. But if i had to chose, i would go with sand.

bare bottom is only good if you are lazy fish keeper,and also bare bottom does not look to nice,get sand,it looks great.

would it not be ok with a huge external canister, i wouldnt have to clean it very often would i?

Sand lays tight so everything that normally falls, in the cracks and crevices, of gravel, will lay visibly on top of the sand...
