Ahh i understand what u mean about the cube.

Sorry i am finding it hard to understand what you mean by the overflow from the link. Is the overflow pipe the intake pipe for my sump?

Do you mean it piggy backs of the out take pipe for my canister fliter and goes into the sump?

it is the the overflow, so it takes the place of drilling. so it takes water to the sump.
it uses the principal of siphoning to get water over the glass wall, the water level in the tank wont fall below the top of the green pipe

no you dont want to use any kind of pump to push or pull from a upper tank down to a lower tank, your asking for half empty top tank and overflowing bottom tank

that hose is only to start the siphon, you actually dont need it. you can start the siphon buy sucking the hose at the other end of the green pipe. or use a power head to push water into the pipe when starting(remove the powerhead after siphon is started)

Ah i will have a look is there like a rule of thumb for size of sump vs size of tank? Yea the capacity for media in the FX5 is not very large.

Typical rule of thumb is about 1/4 of your tank size.

Oh heheh the little pipe through me off lol.

What contorls the level of water in the sump. is that to do with the sections and what level the glass is put in at?
