Really? I've never had anything touch Java Fern. Not even Africans....
in no, wierd right:nilly:.

Believe it or not, the botia loach absolutely murders plants!...at least mine does. Unfortunately, it seems like you may have all the wrong fish for live plants.

Java Fern could grow in your toilet with the lid down. It looks like it's being molested by a fish, probably something that likes to chew.

That's funny lol

Some plants have what looks like snail damage, while others have been bit and ripped, which a pleco would not do. Your tank is very hostile towards plants. If you want plants, remove the botia, the geo, the angel, and any snails.

My java looks the same way.. a pleco would not turn it brown and i have no snails. I never see my fish go near it. water is perfect. lighting around 2 wpg

COuld be soem small snails in your tank. I had a few tiny snails in my tank and they did this to my leaves. Always little holes and other eaten spots.

Java Fern will often brown out as a result of the damage. If you've handled the ferns, you'll notice the leaves are kind of "brittle" so to speak, and I have seen plec's and SAE's quickly move over them and unintentionally damage the leaf...and the brown seems to follow. I have a hunch that 2 WPG might help contribute to the browning as well... my 2 cents.
