I read it can be made from fish waste which doesn’t sound good. It’s in one of my fish food pellet ingredients.

There are a number of fish species (Tilapines, and some Cyprinidss) that are very efficient recyclers of other animals waste.
I've seen videos of Heterotilapia buttikoferi and large barbs and Labeos, eating fresh feces spewing from a hippos rectum.
But hey, rabbits eat there own......at least once.

Thanks for the reply. That sounds awful ! Lol I wouldn’t feed my fish feces even if they would eat it. Nor would I want to feed my bichir any kind of fish that ate feces as their main diet because it would transfer.

Fishery waste is NOT fish poo, it's the remains of fish parts such as skin, bones, oils and bits and pieces of fish.

Dee nailed it, it's simply processing waste. Nothing wrong with it, some manufacturers use it as a concentrated form of protein so they can use less in the formula.
