What is going on with reptile shows lately?

Are you a breeder/importer exclusively or do you have a retail outlet as well?

People tend to go to reptile shows to find the oddballs that retailers don't offer. Or they want an extremely good deal (up 50% off). If you can't offer either your in trouble really.

I was at the show talking with you it was dead at the mars show only bought those roaches off you and my cresties ate them like in 2 seconds I need more of them. Did your mom's cresties eat the phoenix worms?

I am a breeder only. On rare occasions I will get stuff on an importer, treat it and then sell it. But it has to be some thing really odd or in demand. I do try my best though to only offer CB stuff.

Alot of times you can not find dart frogs in your typical retail store. Not all the times but a decent amount of them.

I offer the majority of the good "starter" dart frog along with some thumbnails and pumilios and the more advanced frogs. I always try to have prices cheaper than you can get on line and def better than pet stores. Plus a better quaility animal that most pet stores.

I offer all the feeders you would need, all the stuff you need to culture the feeders and everything you need to make the tanks / set ups.

I do have a web site in the works though.

The reason I got into some of the pygmy chams and smaller geckos was for the whole variety concept.

I use to enjoy doing the shows and now I am starting to dread them.

mr.reef24 - Glad to hear they ate the roaches. She has not had any luck getting the cresties to eat the pheonix worms. I tried to message you back but I think I did it wrong. heck i did not even know I had messages on there till I seen yours  :(

It seems people want cheap disposable pets not something to actually take care of or that they might have to put some kind of time into.

It is a shame that free and cheap are more eye catching than quality. I'm not sure its just the economy either. The reptile hobby is always growing and new people are getting involved. You may just be seeing the influx of newbies and people who otherwise do not know of quality or don't want to spend yet.
I worked at a petco for a while and free/cheap/discounted always got interest regardless of someones capacity to actually care for something.

its got to be the economy. with they way its been over the past year or so people just dont want to shell out top dollar on reps. its really sad. its going to hurt us in the long run i think.

all of the big chain stores dont help the matter either. i dont kno why people would even buy somehting from petco or similar places. i walk in and i turn right back around haha.
