Looks to have the exact body shape as a black shark. Probably some kind of uncommon cyprinid thats in the same genus as the black shark?

i know what it is.. the name escapes me right now... it's called 'spotted" something, adults reach 10-12" with spotted silver scales... the body becomes deeper as well.
