what is it with people and alcohol?

Eh, I got Dels. back on this one. I don't drink, never have, probably never will. I've seen a lot of lives hurt and even destroyed cuz of alcohol and I just don't want any part of it. I make it a point to show peeps that I can have as much fun, if not more, WITHOUT drinkin alcohol. I respect my body, i get all the fun I need from adrenaline and LFS...haha. One of the main reasons that i choose not to drink though is cuz one of my brother-in-laws said that I would never be able to make it through college with out drinkin....it pissed me off cuz i'm not to fond of him to begin with, so i wanted to prove him wrong. Top that off with losing one of your close friends to a drunk driver, yeah, I'm fine with out. I respect people and their choice to drink, but its just not for me.

Yeah, I hear you on that; that's legit reasoning. I don't mind people who don't drink at all. My mom, in fact, never EVER drinks. It's totally an individual choice. I've never tried smoking a cigarette before and probably never will. It's those people who feel the need to preach to me about how I shouldn't be drinking that make me want to black out and puke on them though. Just let me do my thing, and I'll let you do yours.
err, drinking is sic...remember u only live once...make the most of it...not saying that drinking all day everyday is making the most outta life either...

but alcoholics seem to live a quarter to half of that
Most people who drink are not alcoholics by anybody's definition except those who sell treatment programs. For alcoholics who choose that slow suicide, let them, just try to minimise the damage they do on their way down.
