They are every where here. We catch them using dough balls or earthworms. Snag one by accident on occasion while bass fishing.

Dough balls are great carp bait, if nothing else is biting i take dough balls to the river, and catch huge carp, good fighters.NOT so good to eat :barf:
 
if its properly smoked over hickory carp isn't bad its bony but not bad-Anne
 
supposedly Carp are good breaded/fried but because of their mud-sifting feeding behavior and long life span i imagine they accumulate a lot of bad tasteing stuff...
