Yes, definately 4-5 years, bought mine as tiny juvies had them for quite a while before they began to breed. It was a complete surprise when I finally found one with a mouthful of fry. Good luck with yours- post pics if you can.

trpoheus dubois are not south american cichlids they are endemic to lake tanganyika found in 3 diffrent areas of the lake!and are very easily get bloat be careful giveing out incorrect info !

its ok i am sure you'll see it again,why dont you tell the guy at that store to get you some....if you do please dont just buy one or two, you need 8-10, at-list....

i will have to wait awhile..but yes thats what i intend to do.. have a colony..although if that little guy was still there when i went back he would be claimed too..
