im not sure about bloat in bichirs, but in african cichlids, particularly malawi's they get bloat from eating to much for, or getting to much meat, being that they are generally algae grazers.
im guessing that bloat in bichirs would be eating to much, but i feed mine alot and often, and have never had this problem, so in sum, i guess i got really no idea.

and if it is bloat, add some epson salt, acts like a laxative and might help move the crap out of their system. youll have to do water changes to remove the epson salt
