Thanks! They do look a bit similar...
The coloring traits confuse me and make me think it is a hybrid. It hs electric blue cheeks which some veija have, and a red throat which other vija have. But i havent seen any with both... So im leaning towards hybrid with one parent being a type of veija. And i think that maily due to its body shape which is more rounded that a lot of the other American cichlids.
Just looks like a generic hybrid to me, and trying to figure out what combination is what, is a bit nebulous, because is may be a combination of 3 or 4 or more different species, with all the random crossing these days.
And a pure breidhori is quite distinctive, at least from my point of view. A male below.

What is your "evidence" to this?
I dont doubt you, im just windering why that combo jumped to mind. Im thinking basically the same as i thought before; a Texas X V. Heterospila.
