Was wondering what you ray guys think? even down to a teacup ray?

is there a chart or a good book that gives species info ?

thanks

o i here that " Freshwater Stingrays" published by Barrons by Dr Richard Ross is a good book. don't think they are something you'd keep with those plecos of yours though

Thanks for the info, no i am getting a bigger tank and once i empty my 240 I'm trying to decide with what to do with it, so i thought maybe some nice rays would look cool! :D

2 ft tank would be fine for most rays , if started small, for a few years to give you time to plan an upgrade

You could do retics or histrix in there for life or some of the other smaller sp.

well if your goin bigger, like a 8x3 tank, there are quite a few possibilities

Well there always is with a bigger tank, but he wan'ts to know what would do good in his 240.

Thanks guys for the replies. yes they would be for my 240gal 96x24x24

would they be the only thing i could keep in it? what are my limitations of tank mates? i know plecos would not be good or geophagus.

any thoughts?

thanks again for your help.

also are you guys using RO water for your rays? or tap?

Joe :D

I use tap water.

Not to many limitations with the smaller rays like histrix or retics. Geos would be fine with them, I have seen that done alot. You could do clowns loaches, catfish, aros, and stuff like that. Most upper level schooling fish are fine. Really anything the rays can't fit in their mouth, or what wont pick on the ray.

The only rays I have had that kill tankmates are my motoros, well my male motoro, he kills pretty much anything.

My retic on the other hand was so placid. I had it with a dojo loach that it could have sucked it up like a worm but left it alone, plus smaller tetras that it could eat no problem. Just depends on the individual ray really, and the what type you have.
