yeah but there are crocs, rotting bones of animals, water snakes and water can be really foul in parts. I lived in a landlocked counrty in africa so gotta go with lakes.

There are crocs, dead animals and deadly snakes in the ocen too. :)

wouldnt it kinda depend on what lake we weer talking about>>. some lakes hold larger more aggresive surprises than others..
nothign like going for a swim and feeling the rock your standing on swim away:WHOA:

If your life depended on your buoyancy alone, the lake would be more dangerous.

Clyde, I would like to depend on the buoyancy of your avatar

That said, although this is a brutally stunned question :D , oceans are by far more dangerous. You don't even have to be in the water, if you are deserted on a barren island in the middle of the ocean without anything, you're toast. You can't drink salt water!!

Burt:)

What if you are in a lake on an island surrounded by the ocean.

Or is your bathtub more dangerous?

I didn't vote because the question(as with most polls) is to general. I give you my opinion from this veiw, depends on location there are plenty of dangers asscotiated with lakes here in Colorado, but none asscotiated with oceans.

Well, the lake would be harder to swim as far as in the ocean simply because of the bouyancy fact. dangerous animals fair very little in ocean simply becuase of the animals that are the most dangerous in the ocean (jellyfish, sharks ect.) most of them aren't all that dangerous, and the ones that are aren't very aboundant. But, depending on the ocean, there are many islands, and chances are if u are going to get stranded in one of the two , u are either in a boat, or on a beach which the beach wouldn't really be dangerous lol. The boat on the otherhand, is what imo makes one more dangerous then the other. The majority of boats taken out into the ocean a ways are rather large and therefore do hold emergancy things such as water rafts and the sort, while boats ment for lakes are usually smaller, therefore there is less of a chance of having something to get to shore with, besides a life jacket.

so really i'd go with lake overall, but they really aren't very dangerous at all when you think about it.

i say lake and small tributaries in south america are the most dangerous.
has anyone heard of the candiru? its a small catfish that has no problem with swiming up your urethra:cry: . now that sounds pretty dangerous to mee:nilly:
