What is my male dovii doing?!

I have a dovii pair same size as yours in a 125 and the agro behavior from the male is just plain unpredictable.One week he is nice to his gf the next week i have to put in the divider for a few days and the male cools off. I suggest u move up to a 6'-8' long tank asap and keep the divider handy also some good hiding spots for the lady and that will help u keep dovii in good shape.

haha that's exactly how my dovii act. I need to build a divider like yours and make sure the female can get in and out of the male's way.
