What is on my ray?

Just noticed it today. What could this be? Sorry about the crappy pic.

He's eating and acting normal.

whoa, something penetrated thru the top layer of the disc? did something pick on it? looks like a burn maybe? or like something bit it?

wow that don't look good at all looks like a burn from a heater but is there a pleco or some other fish in the tank that would pick on the ray??

if you have a pleco or flag tail in the tank i would say thats what done it

There is a pleco. He will be gone shortly. I've never seen anyone mess with this guy. The tank he is in is fairly peaceful, but the pleco will go to a new home.
it can't be from a heater because they are in the sump. Thanks for the help guys. I'll do an extra couple of water changes this week

im having doubts its a pleco

for one its jsut in one spot

for two it seems that the pleco would have to keep rasping at the area for quite some time, and of coarse the stingray would move away in defense before it got to that.

I agree, it's a boo boo. Is there anything sharp in the tank that could have done it? Just make sure that you don't see any fungusing and keep the water conditions clean and it will heal fine.

the pleco wont make a big hole at once he will rasp in diffrent places and leave lots of diffrent white patched

mainly at night when plecos are more active

This spot is much smaller than it looks like in the picture. I'll keep an eye on everyone and do some extra water changes.
