O yes! Two people carried my 3/4" thick 300 gallon tank. It would take 4 or more people to carry it if it was glass.

so how much should a 500 gallon acrylic tank run someone used.... say with duel overflows?

thanks bud / would u happen to know the actual difference in the weight, Size for size?

According to midwestcustomaquariums.com, acrylic is approximately 1/2 the weight of glass of comparable thickness.

Well the 450g I listed was 639 pounds. You should probably call tenecor or another tank maker to find out exactly. Dimensions will also matter a 24" high tank will only need to be 1/2" whereas a 30" would be 3/4" and 3 footers will go 1".

does anybody know? im looking at the total weight of a tank that is 108x36x30 and 1/2" and 5/8". anyone know what either weight is? thank you...;)

It sounds like this tank would need to be made of 3/4" with the 30" height.

well like i said. ive seen the tank hold water and its been up and running for about a year. im just not sure of the weight to ship it.

I got a couple of quotes from tenecor the 96x36x24" weights 441 pounds and is made from 1/2" acrylic. The 96x36x30" is 639 pounds and made from 3/4" acrylic.

This is the weight on the quotes, not sure if the is actual tank weight or total shipping weight which would include the crating.

The weight they quoted you is incorrect. I have the exact same tank and it weighs 260 pounds. Maybe they are giving you the total shipping weight with the pallet and all packing material? Me and one other guy carried my tank in the house, and it was too easy.

Use the calculator I linked on page one. It is for sure right on if you enter all the information in correctly. 96x36x30 with 3/4" acrylic should weigh 442 pounds.
