Ask tongue about cichla and plecos... he will never keep them together ever again!

itsalmosteasy.....i'll be sure to pm him and find out....i was also reading a thread about a guy who tried to feed his pbass a dead cory cat, and the spine of the cory kept itself stuck in the pbass' mouth and pbass died. sorry if story sounds horrible but im just kinda in a run...im watching the LLWS...go hawaii!!!

your best bet would be a oxydoras niger i have one with my pbass its like a vacuum cleaner i have not gravel vac my tank in over 18months it will never bother your bass and it grows way to fast for the bass to eat it

I have been looking for a good cleaner fish to keep with my pbass to help keep the bottom clean, i was thinking of a pleco but i know they are more of a glass cleaner, or maybe a clown loach, but i am really interested in a gold nugget but not to sure...im just looking for suggestions, any would help, thanks, Joe
Is your tank barebottom? Either way, control your food rations. Feed your fish sparingly for 5 minutes and do not resort to fish to do the job. Bottom dwellers also need to be supplemented with foods, not just leftovers. What size is the tank and what fish are in it currently aside from peacock bass?

Gravel bottom....120 gal....one 5" ocell, two 4" tem, 1 3" lmb, currently feeding, frozen bloodworms, blackworms, rr minnows 2x daily

If your problem is just leftovers, then overfeeding is the problem. Simply vacuum the bottom. No need to resort to fish. If you like bottom dwellers just as you like peacock bass, then you can try some fancy plecos that you like but be sure to meet their dietary requirements. Various plecos require different food diet and some require wood and veggies to their diet. With peacock bass, you'll want plecos that are 8 inches and over in length. The additional bioload will mean filter and water change upgrades. If you are willing, go for it.

yeah i was looking to get a gold nugget, but i know that they grow very slow and only reach and average of 6-8"....so he might just have to go into my community feeder tank...lol

That is not necessarily true... it all depends on the size of your peacock bass. Ideally you would want the pleco bigger than the peacock bass.
