What is the best Filter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok so an overflow is installed just as a saftey precaution no drilling nessasary and is to be used with a sump. I could have the tank drilled for a sump also. Is one way better than the other. so I put in an overflow, siphon from the tank into a container under tank and then pump it back up in after filtering? Damn I need a diagram or something

I would go with a XP-3.

Forget about the charcoal and ammonia crap

what is so bad about the charcoal and ammonia crap?

So then I should just get a bad ass canister filter as apposed to a overflow w/sump.

Also would it be better to drill the tank. or just install an overflow if I was going to do a sump. and why?

xp3 is reliable and pretty darn good!

ok I decided to just get a good canister filter. what is the best for the money filter I can buy that will handle a 135. I was looking at petsmart at the Fluval ones around 230 clams.
