What is the best type of driftwood to use?

I have about 1000 # of drift wood. Most is Malaysian with some African root and USA lake driftwood. I like Malaysian best because my plecos eat it slow. African is too hard for them to eat and USA hardwood driftwood it too soft.

Here are a couple of my 5 - 6' pieces (not my biggest).

I use Malaysian, mainly because it sinks immediately.
