I want to get a big fish in my 75gal. i currently only have 2 snow white socolofi, 2 blue socolofi, 4 labs. snow white and 3 labs are all over 3 inches, but the others are less than an inch. (i will probably put them into a 10gal for a while). but ya, i want 1 big fish in that tank that will be the center attraction in it. any ideas? i was leaning towards 1 red devil, but that is like suicide for my other fish. . .

Heh, anything that is really big will likely eat the mbuna eventually, (Heck that is there natural prey... But the biggest africans first need a larger tank than a 75.

I personally would go with say an Protomelas sp. "Spilonotus Tanzania", and you could put a few other male haps in there. But the Tanz tend to max at ~12 inches. Great looking fish, good personalities, and don't become killing machines. (Red devils are what 16 inch fish so it isn't that far off on size.)

(And you aren't likely to find most of these guys at petco, but well that is ok since I don't want people buying these guys and thinking they can go into there 20 gallon tanks.)

(And BTW Boulengerochromis microlepis get to be ~36 inches...)

The D comps are pretty peaceful open water fish. It would be better to get a male and female of this fish.

I would do a single livingstonii. The problem with the Nimbos is that you can get some big jerks that can kill all of your smaller fish if they ever felt like it. You can also get some relatively peaceful ones that will not bother other fish of different species.
