What is the biggest pleco ever recorded?

HA.... Acanthicus Hystrix will get bigger. 4' A. Adonis just shy of that. Panaque sp like the one above would get bigger.
This picture if from Planetcatfish.... It's being used for educational purposes so they shouldn't mind.

I saw a two footer in the Amazon.I was spearfishing at night in Peru.It took of as soon as the light hit it.my guides said it was over a meter long.they like to exaggerate.
 
I dunno about you guys...but I love LARGE plecos...they are sooo kewl to handle! I love the way their armor interlocks...it just feels sooo kewl, used to catch my two 20" commons by hand...lol..awesome fish! I got rid of them though...sigh.....they were crapmachines i swear...blah!
 
Biggest ive seen would be just over 1ft. I know they get bigger though!

I'm sorry for being a b!tch, but if I'm ever in the water and see a pleco anywhere near teh size of some of these photos, my 230 lb ass is gonna look like jesus walking on water, only faster!
 
The one posted by Oddball is supposed to be the pleco with largest potential size..up to 100cm in the wild.. Pseudacanthicus hystrix..
