Cichla temensis are both the largest & heaviest. Cichla pinima possibley second. But definitely not emperors!

And if you really have a 30" dovii i encourage you to throw up some photos because thats 10" larger than the biggest dovii ive seen.

Tems are prolly second to Emperors. THere is a great video on youtube with a breeding pair. They kick a turtle's butt.

I thought I read something about a 40lb Tem being foul hooked and thus, not applicable for a IGFA Record. I would think Pbass in general are the largest of the cichlids.


Oh and btw, some Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus, Oreochromis aureus, Oreochromis mossambicus) can get bigger than Dovii
