Had a tank break and leak all over my floor 3 weeks ago, lost a Texas but saved my 2 bristlenose catfish which I put into a small 5 gallon tank until I set up my 40 gallon.
My big male Turquoise Herichthys messed his face all up, while trying to defend the current fry batch against a fry from a former batch.
The fry keeps going into a nitche in the driftwood& my male must've been thinking his head can fit in it too.
He just kept banging on it & cut his face up pretty bad.

Clip holding "out" side of my Fluval 405 broke off. Causing it to shoot up and throwing water out of my tank onto the floor. This caused about 1/3 of my tank water to end up on the floor. LUCKILY I had been lazy and not clipped the inlet side down so it was about 6 inches higher then it should have been. If it was clipped 1/2 of my 90g would be on the floor.
This also caused my fluval 405's motor to burn out which costs $50 on amazon. My flowerhorn will have to do with just a ac70 for now.
Three days ago I noticed my dominant male eye biter is sitting on the sand...I think in a fight with my red empress(now boss) he injured either his tail or his air bladder. He still eats and still on full color but move with his tail dragging on the sand
The only amusing thing is in this pose, other cichlids would come up to him and do the mating dance and he would consent...
I noticed more movement from him this morning, I hope he would some what recover. Good thing is other fish has not picked on him yet.
Just went in fish room to find a wide bar silver $ missing. The fish in the tank would not be able to eat it, looked all over the floor just in case it jumped out through small slit in the top. I do not know, nowhere to be found. Lol. Maybe 1 of my dogs got it if it jumped out. I fix the top so no more fish can get out but this is definitely a mystery today.
