I had a fish arrive belly up floating but still swimming around. What could cause this? How would I treat it next time?

It may have a swim bladder issue going on.

Do you think it was just damaged during shipping?
It's possible the box was tossed around a bit by the shipping employees and the fish sustained some kind of injury as a result. They dont seem to care too much if a box is marked "fragile".

Could be this. Maybe the water went bad in the bag.
I was thinking that as well though it really shouldn't in such a short period of time in transit......hopefully it pulls through.

I agree with kno4te kno4te and Jjiang00 Jjiang00 about either water went bad or tossed around by shipping workers. I don't believe that a vendor would ship a fish with a bladder issue atleast I hope not.

Yeah the vendors very reputable and im not going to name any names but he was very responsible and didnt even charge for the shipping to replace it. I even saw a video of it prior to shipment so it must’ve gotten damaged during transport somehow.
