I was hoping for a pair?
And do the cardinal fish look good?

Pairs sometimes get over aggressive , as far as how pajama cardinals look, they have unique coloration and patterns

Those specific corals tend to be fast growing and uncomplicated to care for.

Sumps aren't necessary but can be helpful

Another option many people do, is to make a refugium out of an aquaclear filter. Get a small clip-on light for it, and grow macroalgae that absorbs nitrates.
