My 3 fire eels think they are dogs... they will squabble like children everytime I come near the tank weather it's feeding time or not and love to play with my fingers and rub themselves over my hands and arm if i put it into the tank. it's the only time I see any consistant aggression between them. and they are chub chubs.. lol. So I know it's not mearly fighting for food. my 2 Sens will also torment my cat... flitting around the top when she walks by... and the weird cat rubs the tank purring. she's dipped her paw in once for a bat at them.. and hasn't done it since she discovered it's water in the tank lol. no claws either.. but I have left the lid down now that I've seen this weird behavior. My Oscar is fairly shy around people... but will bang the tank when the dog walks into my room 'n pokes her nose at the tank, and open it's mouth and try and lip lock her threw the glass... scared the crap outta the dog first time he/she did it.

so far no odd fish/fish relationships.

I thought it was interesting that when I added a couple dozen fish to my community tank that already had almost 200 fish, that almost every fish treated the new comers differently even though there was already occupants of the same species in the tank. They all showed curiosity towards the new additions which tells me that they all recognize each other (by sight, smell or something) even with a high population tank.

Then there are my clown loaches which always like to interact with other fish. But the funniest thing was when I put a fan tail goldfish in. I could swear that a couple of the clown loaches was trying to imitate the goofy thrashing swimming method of the fan tail.

This lady gave me a tinfoil barb and a bloodparrot. The tinfoil is about 8", the blood parrot is 4".. They have been living togethor in an Eclipse 12g since they were babies. They NEVER leave each others side, it's almost disgusting.

Maybe they don't leave eatchothers sides because they are 8" and 4" in a 12g tank. :D

My 5 inch male red hump earth eater has paired up with my giant african clawed frog . They both squeeze themselves into a little cave together

my electric blue jack dempsey and peacock eel with play together and sit in a little drift wood nook together and wait for blood worms to float by

My best fish relationship was with my two deceased pacus.. i had them 8 years until a wire under the tank shorted out that caused the bottom of the tank to crack and of course to explode..that was three years ago....
They were and always will be the most facinating fun and intelligent fish i have ever owned.. they would entertain and dance in the water.. shake their bodies .. so totally cute. It was quite often i wished i could take them in my arms and give them a hug just like you would do for a puppy dog.. they were fun to feed too.. crunchy noise from them chewing up their carrots could be heard right through the glass of the tank.. they truly were my best fish... even now i still can visualize them like it was yesterday.. so enough said when i say they will never be forgotton..even today my husband and i spoke of them.. and even today it brought a tear to my eye.. so tempted to get another two.. but i still cannot bring myself to it.. sometimes your one and only's are still the best..

Best Fish relationship I have seen has been a 6 in GT and a Little Red Jewel. They rub up against each other and protect each other in my community SA/CA tank. Red jewel maybe outta place, but my GT makes the Red Jewel fell right at home!

i think the nicest experience what i had was my siamese tiger fish protecting my little clown loaches and fire mouth chiclid from my psycho parrot fish aka jellybean
