What is the most difficult fish to keep alive?


I'll have to say guppies. I bought some twice in the past and I couldn't keep them alive for more then a few days. Strangely enough I was able to keep them alive for months when I was 6 years old but not now at 23, and with much more fish keeping knowledge then I had before. I don't get it...

Another one I really struggle with is clown loaches. I bought a bunch and they got ick within days and never recovered (even with proper treatment). That was a $200 mistake I wont repeat.

So what do you guys think is the most difficult fish to keep alive? Share your experiences.

I had a couple of Elephant Noses die on me.

That was back in the 80's though when only flake food was available here!

Also my large Silver Dollar ate my male Guppies as soon as I introduced them!!

Discus really aren't that difficult.

Any fish can be difficult if you don't know how to properly take care of them, not saying you don't but none the less each has their own difficulties.
