What is the most difficult fish to keep alive?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's easy. I say guppies as well. Whenever I trhow them in with my oscars they don't last two minutes.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Personal expeirences, puffers.
My brother bought two in a row, kept them alone in a 10 gal and they both died the next day.

Otherwise, probably some kind of marine fish that needs special foods.
Moorish idol is a tough one to keep I know.

Moorish Idols are almost impossible to keep in captivity.

Finding Nemo made them popular though :swear:

my friend had one of these for over a year in his 180 reef tank but it just died a few weeks ago. major bummer. what a beautiful fish.

I can't keep Rams to save my life - and I really want to.

Any species of Tropheus are pretty tough. I have wild caught and they are super aggressive and picky about their food.

achilies tangs and morish idols and octopi. i guess thats not technically a fish but they are pretty care intensive

I've also had bad luck with clown loaches, although maybe it was due to their size: they were all around an inch long. I got five, the first one died that same night, the next two the next night, which left me with two. I got another two, and then I noticed one of them was getting pretty skinny, so I ordered some roundworm medicine, but it and another died anyway. So I've got two left and a dilemma, since I know they prefer groups but I'd hate to lose more money.
