before i knew anything about keeping fish i kept some pretty overstocked tanks:
a 20g tall w/ an 8" pacu and a 4" bullhead(had a 3" bluegill before the bullhead) the pacu was the size of a quarter when i got him.
a 10g w/ a 6" blue channel catfish
the same 10g but before the cat and only 3/4 full(failure to top off) w/ a 6" comet goldfish
on both of the tanks i did WC only about every 3~6months and mainly used UGF plates w/ air stones for filtration(used a small HOB on the 20g for the last 2months i had it)
although i've seen worse tanks:
the tanks at wal-mart, betta cups/bowls and the countless 40g tanks with hundereds of feeder comets that seem to be at just about every store except a few good ones, a 1g bowl w/ a 3" bubble eye goldfish, most of the tanks at capital aquarium(as bad as walmart) there was a guy on a reef site that had about 6 fish(including a baby lionfish) in a BB 5g w/ just a corner bubble filter and he thought he was doing a great job of keeping them.

And people can't understand why I am so against "nanocube" type tanks...
nanocubes are great for certain species of fish like say a firefish or a neon goby but for lions and other larger fish no way
24 '' + gar in a 30 gal at lfs today....................you could compare that to a semi truck attempting a u turn on a 1 lane, 1 way street...................Sad to say I feel mine is Even though not as stocked as some.. I am at a loss right now as my 250 is still on hold Though getting CLOSER AND CLOSER EVERY MINUTE TO BEING IN MY LIVING ROOM
