There is no way those fish all reside in that tank as a permanent residence. Its gotta be set-up for the photo. I see it all the time with reef tanks, set-up for a photo op and then off to the proper tanks for the corals. It has to be the same thing.
I wouldnt move an arapaima just for a photo shoot . They are a bitc to move.

Whats the 2009 update on this. I was thinking of putting 12 juvenile malawi in my 55 gallon. Is that overkill

No that should be fine. I currently have 15 sub adult mbuna in my 55 gallon.

12 adult bala sharks,5 6 inch clown loaches, 3 adult tinfoils, 6 adult size pictus cats,
6 adult size synodontis eurpius,6 -6 inch re hook silver dollars, and 3 med size silver dollars in a 55 gallon. with just an under gravel filter, and a 3- foot long black pacus in a 100 gallon, I told him about the site don't know if he is on here or not. he emailed me like two to three months ago and said he bought a 800 gallon but I said prove it be taking a photo of you in front of the tank and send it to me. he never did, I bet the monsters are still in the small tanks.

betas in bowls
if they werent perfect spheres, they couldnt turn around
they act as their own powerhead by swimming around
especially if youve ever heard of "King Betas"
so theyre stunted too

500 cardinals in a twenty gallon tank with some hachets. nothing but an airstone. also once there were like 30 catfish in a twenty gallon tank. most were pretty big.

I had 2 oscars,2 severums,tsn,2 pictus,1 jd,1 pleco in a 45 but my dad said where getting a huge tank and we got a 120.So were fine.

btw they were all 2-3 inches

This is rediculous

A guy at a convient store in beverly ma has 3 flowerhorns and 3 king kong parrots in a 55.

15-20 12"-20" different fish in a tank (looked between 100-150gal) at a club. My mate rung some animal number and next time we went there half the fish were gone (hopefully due to this ph call and not death). No idea at all some people.
