Just curious, what are some of the most pickiest fish when it comes to eating? Like maybe clown knives, or leaf fish, considering they are very hard to wean off feeders?
Old fish that have been fed feeders their entire lives, seen a jar that was fed nothing but feeders for all its life. After giving the owner advise on how to get him off of live feeders and even going round to his house to help we found out it was (near) impossible. The fish wouldn't even try a shrimp tail, nothing but feeders and it went a fortnight with out even touching them on a few occasions. Even tried running them through the water on string so they look alive, nope not even a bite. Guess it will eat feeders for the remainder of its life. Im sure one day he may eat pellets if the owner keeps at it, but for now the jar doesn't.
my Ompok Bimaculatus are picky eaters
like they would rather not eat if its not live fish
and they wait for nighttime to eat and wont let me see
i sneak up on them with a spy light still wont eat in front of me
next morning every things gone catfish with big belly smiling mocking me
over 6 months i never see them eat
went a week or so without feeders
finally last night when i put a few in
one of them came out of they're plant
and snatched a feeder in front of me
also i need to separate from some mean fish that are making them shy
so after that maybe all get them to eat market shrimp or fish chunks
Datnoids, clown knives, and peacock bass are the hardest to wean off feeders in my opinion. Red belly pacu in my opinion as the easiest to switch to floating/dead foods. All based on experience of course.
