What is the pickiest fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well i would assume any wildcaught saltwater fish,at least some will literally starve themselves or those that just have incredibly specialized feeding habits that a home aquarium can't reproduce. Mandarin dragonets and moorish idols i would think and maybe coopperband butterflys.

bullrout and sole. Only eat live foods....

the pickest eater is the fish you spent your paycheck on and you cannot get it to eat a thing...and its time for your next paycheck to roll in

My Red Tail Black Shark will attempt to eat anything, but as soon as the food hits his mouth, suddenly its rejected. Its beyond me how he stays alive.

candiru (i think i said it right) they only eat the gills of living fish, nothing eles.

\Actually most candiru species (there are several) are not hard to keep, while they do parasitize the gills of larger fish they will also eat soft meaty foods such as decaying fish or even chicken livers.

The pickiest fish I can think of off hand is the star pearl fish, Carapus mourlani, it live inside the body of pincushion starfish.
