I don't think the op is taking about bolting. She is taking about flashing. Flashing is a territory thing. It's normal.

Give them time. I've known several people that had had trouble getting jack demspeys to spawn.

Just let them do their thing. They'll spawn if the water is right AND if they want to.
Just be happy the male isn't kicking the crap out of the female. And that you don't have hundreds of babies jack Dempseys that you have no idea what to do with.

never had my mated pair flash on any thing, little lip locking as the female test the male, then some side nipping, (keep on task) then all about rock cleaning and nesting. with some fish twerking in between.

This no crap, once they start, every 3 weeks or so, unless you have other fish to feed the fry to just more freaking fry.

can not vacuum the tank, oh oh oh no or you suck up the fry. pre-filter booties a must or they will clog up your filters.

it was a weird joke...lol You kinda have to imagine me saying it in a whiny annoying girl-voice comically to know I wasn't gonna take offense to subtle or condescending either way.

It's funnier in person.....hard it is to show emotion on the internet

My male bred with 4 or 5 different females every 2-3 weeks and rotated them

From my own experience, just for REMOVING them.....at 2 weeks, free-swimmers CAN be successfully sucked through a siphon hose and relocated without harming them. It was my preferred method over hours of screwing around with a brineshrimp net

However, do not continually vacuum a tank with wigglers (at all) or fry. Just once to move them, that's it.

No worries, TXT based communication is the most miss understood communication there is as far as what you intended. and what was interpreted.
