What is the rarest fish you have or ever had

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Probably Tateurndina ocellicauda, the peacock gudgeon. Frankly, I don't know why these fish are never seen in the hobby. I got mine from a hobbyist breeder at my aquarium club. They stay small, are nice community fish and pretty easy to breed. On top of that, few freshwater fish have more color:

Pacman Cat? High Shine Aro? Lacerdae? Dunno, but over the years I have had a few rare fish.... Currently the rarest thing in my tanks is my Aimara.

EBJD is my rarest fish, kind of sad considering its in so many stores. But it's decent size, you rarely see big ones...

Mine is an Ageneiosus catfish. Probably A. vittatus but planetcatfish has it as Ageneiosus sp. 3.

My Gymnotus carapo is second.

I also had a Mastacembelus cryptacanthus that was sold to my LFS as a "Congo Eel". Never seen them before in person or on MFK. I'd love to find another, they had the most calm eel personality ever and would handfeed and stayed much smaller than the other spiny eels.

Probably my Red Congo Puffer and my Polleni?

Nothing too exciting for me, probably my 3 callochromis macrops "ndole bay" don't see many of them in aus and and sell for a.
High price
