What is the rarest fish you have or ever had

Are you talking about the delhezi polypterus? There all over the place here. The rarest ive ever owned was the channa aurantimaculata. Still not that rare.

delhezi not rare? you gotta be joking me! Here in canada, they only occur once in a blue moon. I finally got a my del after 5 months. I ordered one in my lps 5 months ago, but they still don't have any. Finally I got super lucky and found a lps that actually sold some. I phone at least 20 fish stores around ontario canada and internationally for one!

anyways, the rarest fish that I kept would be my delhezi or my red wolf fish (not that rare for some of you)!

Cichla Occelaris. Seriously you never see them here in Ireland. But Its between cichla and TSNxLei. But i almost bought some Blue Jewel cichlids before. But they would have got eaten by my Fishy Poo's

my rarest fish are :

harliquin rock cod (cephalophlis polleni)
peacock grouper (cephalophlis argus)
brazilian golden moray (gynothorax milliaris)

all in my 200 gal

Enchelycore anatina (only two I know of in captivity in the US); Gymnothorax ypsilon (not sure how many there are, but I know they're rare).

I guess my "rare" fish were an Albino Adonis pleco, LDA-18 pleco, and a checkered madtom.

I had a Platinum Arowana when they first started arriving on the market. Spendy little devil at the time and it wasn't hardy. I learned a bit on that experience and now have nothing rarer than a Black Arowana. In the fullness of time I've gravitated away from what breeders consider to be fancy and now prefer fish that have a little more inherent genetic resistance to everything. As a younger man being the Louie Pasteur of my fish room was interesting but now I just want them to be healthy and stay healthy.

I don't know how rare these guys are for y'all, but the rarest fish I've kept were Brochis corys and Dwarf Acaras (I still have the Acaras, but don't have the corys).

Some of my “rarer” fish I’ve kept are fish that aren’t commonly seen in the hobby: Stonecat Madtom, Brindled Madtom, Speckled Madtom, Various wild Shiners and Minnows, Various wild Darters, Northern Hogsuckers, Blackstripe Topminnows, a Mystery Tetra that I haven’t ever really seen before, A Blue Catfish I used to own, a Flase Jaguar Catfish I used to own, Mottled Sculpin that is recently owned, and some Crayfish I’ve owned might not be commonly kept since some were wild caught.
