I've always wondered what the difference between leucistic, and platinum is... anyone know?

Leucisistic just means reduced pigment (in all types of pigmentation i.e. reds, yellows, greens). Sometimes they will still have noticeable amounts of color. Platinum is a term slapped on by Asian fish retailers to refer to a completely white and colorless (sever leucism?) fish with black eyes. The normal forms of most leucistic fish are silvery or gray (senegal bichir, silver arowana, barramundi), so the transition into a platinum form doesn't require a huge reduction of pigments, or just the reduction of one or two pigment types. However, there are some platinum forms of more colorful fish.

No difference, like potato, po-tah-to :D Platinum is a "common"/made-up name for leucism fish, as well as "leucistic" (there's no such word ;))
