Dear friends,

Please see this video from my aquarium, I even changed the water but next day the same thing appears. I don’t know what is causing this. I haven’t changed the sand or gravel. Everything was ok until weather got a bit warmer , so I don’t know if the water temperature causes this or what could be the issue. Have you experienced this? Could you please share with this is something I should worry or it happen to any tank?
All parameters of the water are perfect. Also I am not novice so I had the fish tank for over 5 years now. But this is first time I see this type of dusty particles in the water.

Appreciate your help

I've had something similar occassionlly happen in my tanks. Harmlless floating white particles that seemingly came out of nowhere.

I have very hard water in my area and just wrote the particles off as carbonate related. Maybe a build up in the filtration system or the water dept working on pipes.

Either way the particles were a temporary nuisance and apparently inert.

I agree with A201 A201 - harmless detritus floating around. When’s the last time you cleaned your filters? I always figured it was gunk from the filters that eventually settles back down or gets recollected.
Especially after 5 years, no tank is going to be a perfectly sterile system, but I wouldn’t want it to be. You’re watching the ecosystem mature - even if it comes with some ugly moments.

Similar to the answer by A201, if"(?) you have high mineral content in your tap water, minerals such as calcium, and magnesium can precipitate out, and manifest as particulate, in an aquarium, as a result of chemical changes due to fish metabolism, pH changes.
I find if too much time lapses between water changes, and then a large water change is done, particles can precipitate, due to abrupt fluctatuons in pH.
