What is this fish?

its an Australian short finned eal. I messaged Solomon and asked him. (Don't know why I didn't try that the first time)

Haha, never thought of that. Does kinda look like a tulip.
 
Must be a quite young one, as they get larger the nares less noticable. My first guess would have been A. rostatus (American eel) that would have been due to the nares and relatively short snout as well as eye size.

polypeterus is a palmas looks like a nice polli
anouther in the back round
a ctenopoma species can't remember off the top of my head and the circled fish looks like an american but looks to dark could be the gravel but i can't remember if american eels have there fin on the top like that
 
Thats a very young G.tile (freshwater moray)
Shouldn't live in FW though....I have the biggest one that I know of on MFK, or anywhere else (30''+) and she used to look like that. :)

EDIT: just noticed the mouth is wrong.
