What is this fish?

Found this little guy mixed with feeder goldfish. Any ideas on what it is? (Don't mind my cat in the background)

It's not any sort of goldfish, for sure. lol Looks like some sort of cichlid.

its called a pumpkin seed its a type of sunfish

Agreed,not a goldfish,a type of sunfish perhaps...hard to tell really.Its kind of neat to find stowaways in a batch of feeders.

Thats what I was thinking either a type of child or a sunfish. Although I'm leaning more towards it being a sunfish based on the dot by the gills on each side of the fish.

I thought it could be a sunfish for a moment, but it just seemed to elongated, especially in the second pic. I'm not too familiar with NA natives anyway, though.

Oh it's definitely a sunfish of some kind. Dorsal fin and gill plate give it away, for me.
