What is this Flowerhorn?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah I like the generalized label. Because the parents could be anything because nowadays each parent may have blood of 10+ different kinds of breeds including different mixed FH blood within its own original conception.

Because the pics that Chris showed could be called: Red King Kamafa, Green Dragon, White Tiger, etc, etc...depending on what the parents were.

Just I just say Kamfa if it looks Vieja cross, Kamalau if it has a lot of worm pearls that shifts colors, ZZ if it is not like the first 2.

Whatever, whatever, whatever when it comes to FH and what ever the hell it is. We can say all we want because 1 parent can be a SRD x Kamfa....and other parent be Thaisilk x ZZ. Then some babies will look a bit like each of the original breed more or less. Brothers and Sisters will look crazy.

Look at my avatar....Kamalau father x Red Blood Parrot mother....a sibling is Blue with same kinda patterns, others look a like Kamalau, others are short body

Someone told me from the shop today that it is a Diamond Flowerhorn, whatever that is? all i know is the other fish in the tank were bright blue.

Yeah its whatever you wanna call it. These are just made up names by Asian breeders...who dont own Doctorates in Fishology. Thats why I dont care or emphasize names too much. If I bred my own fries and was able to line breed them for consistency, I would make up my own name for them too.

Blue Diamond is what I heard before...and there was once a Blue Dragon too.

So if I could consistently make my avatar fish...I would name the breed, OKAPI!

He looks alot (my fh) like one i had before which was a hybrid between a ZZ and a Texas, it was very red with blue spotting everywhere, sadly she died of a stomach problem.

This was her....flash makes her look less red tho.
