Hello
I've had my 20" capapretum catfish for almost 1.5 yrs now, raised from 2". He has always been healthy without any issues. Within the past week, this has happened see photos. This morning 2 5" red severum were dead and had a slightly cloud eyes and again this white slimey fluff. Please help.

Please post water parameters, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and ph.

Catfish can be sensitive to meds, your water parameters look good. I see the ph is 6.8 so I would suggest treating this with a combination of Malachite green or API Fungus Cure and API Triple sulfa as a buffer.

Use half dose of Triple sulfa with a full dose of either MG or FC, this should clear it up. Do a large water change before starting treatment and remove any carbon if you use it.

Tank is running solely with k1 media boiling and matrix on the bottom. What do you think that it is? Seems very reminiscent of something that ended up killing my 18" mbu😟.

Looks like Saprolegnia to me.

It isn't cottony and stringy like examples of that I am familiar with. It's looks like a peeling sunburn on a person almost. Should i increase temp and WCs with salt?

I would treat it the way I suggested. However this is only a suggestion, it's your call.

I think you made a good call about the iron but I don't think it's just mucus. The remark you made in the other thread about the iron toxicity effecting the immune system from stress was spot on IMO.
