What is this Illness?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is what i noticed with my little AT that got epistyles. All other fish in that tank didnt show any signs of infection while datnioids is really prone to the disease and can live with it its whole life without it breaking out.

Thanks, what is bizzare is that my tank is on a drip and water is cycled in and out pretty quick and my nitrates resemble that with a 10 to 20 ppm reading. The other is that it's only the chocolates that are infected, for now anyway.
No problem. It's a strange case. Almost seems like multiple things going on. Combatting something like this may require multiple types of medication. Those chocolates look nice. I would reach out to fish vet whether local or not.

So the illness has subsided to almost gone . Last Sunday I double dosed Prazipro and for the last three days I have fed pellets soaked in Metro. The one with the worst case , did not eat the pellets so not sure that the metro was the cure. I'm sure it will be back. In the 5 days that I had the prazi in the water my drip was turned off. I'm starting to wonder if the water drip could have something to do with it?? I have ran my water drip always with one charcoal canister and one sediment. I then removed the charcoal and have just been using two sediment since I never changed the charcoal for up to a year I figured it was not doing much but maybe I was wrong?
This illness has came only with the two sediment filters and never had a case of it with a charcoal canister present.

How much water change do you get daily with your drip system?
