Keep at least one on hand.dissolve in a small cup of tank water before
adding to the tank.
Maracyn-1
maracyn-2
Formalin
Oxytetracyline
Erythromycin
Triple Sulfa
Minocycline
furan 2
melafix (best used as a preventitive not a cure)
pimafix (best used as a preventitive not a cure) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In all my years as a fish keeper i have recognized this as well . I have never seen pima or mela fix a fish that would n0t have healed up on its own anyway. These substances are best used for a prenventitive, Like if a fish gets a wound you would treat the tank before a infection sets in. And your wolf looks like it has a fungal infection that is bad enough to have rotted off part of its fin. as well as it looks like a battle wound on its chin area, The meds that i have used in the past to heal up this type of infection in several payara and other characins are maracyn2 and regular maracyn. The fin rot is a gram negative bacteria and that is best treated with maracyn2. But you can and should use these 2 medications together in a hospital tank with higher than normal temp, like 80-84 and some salt in a higher concentration than normal like 2tbs per 5g. This should be used just like a doctor would give you antibiotics, Which is use them for a week to 10 days. And dose the maracyn's daily. And watch the hospital tank for any ammonia cause antibiotics will kill off any bio you have in the tank they are used in. The purpose of the salt is for any parasites that may be trying to get into the wound and also to calm the fish from the stressful situation.

Oh and to me the top of its head to me looks like nothing more than an old battle wound that has healed. The fin is what concerns me cause he is not even trying to use it in the picks. This shows you that it is a painful area. Most wolfes will have that fin on the ground alot of the time as they use it to sort of walk on.

out of the water, they like to splash. could also have some nitrate burn, it happens fast when bagged.

Finn looks wounded and has become infected the holes on the top of his head do look like HITH i would try to seperate him and give him some melafix and salt

As for HITH Clean water a good diet and alot of time will heal it up theres no real meds for it
