Do snails lay eggs ?
I have been soaking a large piece of drift wood for about a week and took it out today to dry in the sun and I notice these two egg like thing on the inside of the wood. Is the wood safe to put in my tank ?

If I remember correctly pest snails lay their eggs in small yellow clustered globs along the glass and decor. So probably not those pesky buggers. I hated the pest snails but they died out overtime

This wood was soaking all week long just took it out today to un dry so no way something ci uld have laid eggs after I braught it him. Maybe a lizard or bird egg from the pet shop ? If so is it safe to use in my tank ? And yes those black things were inside the egg. The wood was on display in an empty tank at the lfs

Looks a lot like the anole eggs ive been finding more and more of lately. Wonder if the driftwood came from a warm area or if it was used in a lizard enclosure before

I would guess it's safe. hard shelled egg animals usually don't live in water, at least none that I can think of..... not to mention it was old and very dead!!!!
