Don't know whether you were referring to me or cam, but I was just throwing a humorous spin on it. Either way, chill... just trying to help.

It's an airpump that was discontinued for the whisper series, they work well though. That nipple on the end is a check valve; it's a spring loaded plate that the air flow pushes through, but when the air shuts off and a syphon is started the water pressure closes the valve.

sorry bout that im just really frustrated with this new tank. so now tht i no what it is where does it go? i just put it in the water? i have a rena filstar xp3 filter.

It's uses are limitless, but it's mainly it's just useless.

You could go to the LFS and pick up some tube (cheap) and an airstone/bubble wand and it will help with surface agitation. I got tired of the ridiculous amounts of bubbles and ditched that.

You could also hook it up to a million different decorations that have bubble features, a sponge filter, undergravel filtration system, and a bunch of other possibilities.

You don't need it, it's just another option to power things. To play it safe you could always have a sponge filter hooked up to it (check out www.drsfostersmith.com and look up the sponge filters) so when you set up a quarantine tank you have a filter for it ready to go.

The only time I use one now is to aerate salt water overnight before a water change on my brackish tank.

Neato Light/bubble fixture
Cheesy Decorations
Xtra Tubing
Bubble Wands
Air Stones
Check valve (what keeps the water from back flowin)
Splitter to hook up multiple things
Sponge Filters

Go nuts, the world is your oyster
