Whats the best way to remove the calcium build up? It seems like I read vinegar works but is that true? Also, how do I clean behind the overflows? Just stick my hands down in it and hope they do not get stuck? lol

Vineger is a very mild acid and in time it would help to desolve the calcium...
Just get pile of single-edge razor blades
and a scraper/blade holder and take your time...
They have long handle ones at HomeDepot that will hold a single-edge razor blade that will reach down inside the overflows...

Vinegar is much better than razors in my opinion. Without it, getting calcium off takes forever. I always just use a stiff bristle brush and vinegar.

Do you just take straight vinegar and rub it on with a rag and let it sit? How is the best way to apply it and do you dilute it?

Oh I've got a full box of razor blades.. but I want to use them as little as possible to reduce the risk of scratching the glass.

Anyone have a link to a how to on plumbing a sump with dual overflows like this tank? I've only used canister and HOB filters, and I'm not 100% sure on how to set it up.

i usually fill the tank and put a cup or so of bleach and let it sit for a night then scrub/scrap it off then hose it out the next day and then let it dry then rinse again.but everyone gets scared of bleach but its always worked for me.
