i know rays sometime get spikes randomly ... my female motoro started to get them on her disk towards the back

i have a motoro with about 8 random spikes on his disk, but they arent that big.

hmm..

could be a few things,

1. their are a few south american parasites that can have this effect on fish. pretty rare but every once in a while they show up

2. more likely it is just an infected spot that developed like a pimple. if so it will go away after a few days. no need to explain further

3. could be a random ray "spike" as said before. well see if it goes away.

how long have you had it? CB? any other new fish in tank?

for now salt is great

had it for about 2-3 weeks cb mantilla/marble hybrid.

how much salt should i add?

just do a normal dose. maybe take the temps up a bit.

my guess its just a small infection. should heal itself.
