What is this?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
LOL, at 1:01 on videa that Butterfly is sizeing those little tetras up.

haha actually what had happened is my camera is an underwater one and i had left it on the bottom of the tank for a while and when I reached in to get it I spooked him...he spooks easily from above.

looks like a injury from feeding. its going to happen with piranhas they are very hearty and will bounce back from much worse than that. to treat injuries in Ps i always use salt and melafix. also are you planning on upgrading? they are going to grow very fast, up to 8 inches in the first year, and will need atleast 75 gallons for life. good luck!

that will heal up very quickly. as for salt should be one Tsp per every 5 gallon I think. There's instruction on the aquarium salt container.

careful on the salt amount. it will give you the right amount to put in for the ize of tank on the container,,,but not too worry looks like a scrape or bump, happens all the time

Gotta remember Piranha are in the Tetra Family (means half scale) - when treating Half scale fish use half the dose! Box/Bottle says use 1 tablespoon of salt per 5 gal. then use 1 tablespoon per 10 gal w/ Tetras..........salt overdosing is not quite as critical as meds esp. when treating for ick half doses are really important you could burn the scales right off your RBP's.

As for injuries on the lower lip get used to it. Callus might even form on the lower lip from them banging the glass too many times (they do this) only way to prevent it, Maybe, is get them in a larger tank but that's not a garuntee.
