What is this stuff? It's been growing on my driftwood and I need to know if it's harmful to my fish.

Take the wood out and pour peroxide on it. It will kill it.

Do i want to kill it? There's fry in there and they seem to enjoy it. Plus it kinda looks cool waving around in the current.

If you don't mind that it could take over your tank, colonize more than just the wood then id say no. Algae is good for tanks, people just don't like the look and it gets on the glass and blocks view. If we could somehow engineer some kind of show algae it would be awesome. That looks awesome, I wouldn't even mind buying some of that from you, just need some more info on its background.
Btw, I subbed this

Red algae sometimes gets a bad rap, because of the red tide, that is toxic.
But there are thousands of species of red algae, not just the type of the red tide.
It may be that the lights in your tank, are heavy in the blue spectrum. This wavelength is what red algae thrive on. If your fry are doing fine, why mess with a good thing, I think it looks great.
