Kind dark gray and flows with the water current is it some type of fungus ? Maybe I should remove the wood?

That stuff was all over and still is on parts of my plastic plants. I just wipe it of with my hand. Is it in the flow of your filter outtake?

No just on the wood. Water has been cloudy the past few days too.

looks like algae to me..but my eyes sometimes lie to me

Wood isn't new and I soaked and boiled when I first got it wanna say two months ago ? Could that be making the water cloudy ? How do you get rid of it and it it harmful to the fish?

I've had this stuff suddenly appear on wood pieces that I've had for years and I made a thread about it some time ago.It is either a form of algae or wood fungus maybe but it is harmless.I have removed the wood, scrubbed it dried it,boiled it and the stuff still grew back.I don't like the looks of it so I no longer use those pieces in my thanks.
I didn't have cloudiness in my tanks when the wood was there so I suspect something else is causing your cloud issue.
